Responses to commonly asked questions about Christianity: based on my beliefs.

How should I follow God, and seek him properly?

Being a Christian is something that requires a full-time faith. If your goal is to seek God properly, this means following him in EVERYTHING. It also means trusting him in the storm, believing when we can't see, and communicating with him through prayer, even when it's not easy.

Proverbs 37:5 tells us: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Why is church such a crucial step in accomplishing Heaven?

Imagine you play basketball through an organized team, but after making the team, you never show up to any of the practices. Without attending practice, you can't build on your skillset and slowly lose the athletic ability you once had. I believe we can approach our spiritual life in the same way; if we don't attend Church, we aren't spiritually feeding our minds! Therefore, we may grow farther from God than we once were.

Colossians 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

What is the significance of water baptism?

As Christians, we should never forget the importance of water baptism. In the Bible, baptism is commanded several times and is mentioned as one of the steps to accomplishing salvation. Baptism symbolizes repentance and faith, serving as a declaration of choosing God above all else. As we see in the New Testament, Jesus himself was baptized by John, and he later commanded his disciples to baptize others. (Acts 19:4, Matthew 28:19)

I may add, the Bible also shows the significance of water baptism in Acts 2:37, 8:36, 9:17, 10:44, 16:14, Acts 16:30, etc.

Throughout these many verses, belief in Jesus Christ is consistently followed by baptism, showing that the New Testament church not only prioritized baptism but also considered it a crucial part of salvation. I do truly believe that this will always be an important step to salvation, and since it is, in fact, commanded by Jesus, we should strive to follow.

Am I ever too far gone for God?

From my personal studies in the Word of God, I understand that some people go through terrible things that lead to some pretty terrible choices. However, when Jesus gave up his own body for our sins, it cleansed us and gave us the ability to turn to him even when we mess things up.

1st John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

When Jesus came down to earth, he came to purify all of us, not just some of us. We are all made in God's image; therefore, we are all eligible to receive the grace of God that we may not deserve, but is freely given to us.

Ephesians 1:7: In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
